Ciao a tutti! This is Sal from Connecticut, USA. This is a pretty cool site. I was going down the guestlist and noticed some cities that were familiar to me. My parents came from Pratola Peligna, AQ, Italy but I was born here. I have been back to the "old country" about 5 times the last time being in Aug '97. Boy, I can never get tired of that place. What a great country. I love being Italian and exploring my heritage. Every time I go back I like to do something different than the last time. Some highlights of my last trip include being there for the 1000 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of Pratola Peligna and climbing to the top of GRAN SASSO!!! I have many relatives/friends in Pratola and I want to send a CIAO out to all of them especially the FABRIZI'S. I would be really interested in meeting people that have ties to or live in Pratola or Italy in general so SEND ME MAIL!!!! Ciao, VIVA ITALIA!!!

I am a first generation Australian born to Vastese parents, specifically from Vasto Marina. I have visited Vasto 3 times and I am extremely interested to hear from other Vastese immigrants around the world. In particular I am interested in the where abouts of my paternal great-grandmothers family, somewhere in Argentina. My grandfathers surname was Tobiolo, Nicola. His mother had an affair with a carabinieri (name unknown) and was then whisked away to Argentina. My grandfather was the product of their affair and was given the name Tobiolo by the Commune di Vasto. If anyone knows anything about this story of knows of any names I would love to hear from you !
