Hello, I recently was able to find my grandfathers Declaration of Intention papers to become Naturalized. He came to the US on Oct 9th 1920. It said that he came from Ari - Chieti. Is Ari a small town near Chiete? If anyone could provide me with more information on this town I would appreciate it very much. Also if anyone know anything about the Pompizzi name I would love to here from you. Thanks very much Frank Pompizzi Ardmore Pa.........

Hi Fellow 2nd, 3rd...generation abruzzesi, Both my parents are from Abruzzi. My father Giovanni Castiglioni is from Roseto and my mother Rosina(DiCurzio) is from Canzano. They emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta Canada in 1961. I along with my 2 brothers and sister have been "home" numerous times. Though we were all born in Canada, we are "ITALIAN"! My great-grandfather Francesco Castiglioni went to New York in the early 1900's. Hey, maybe we have some family there. It would be nice. My grandparents both emigrated from St. Vitorino, a small village in the mountain near Caramanico Terme. My grandfather, Camilio Brandolino, never spoke much about his past, and, unfortunately, both passed away many decades ago. I was the first since 1915 to go back to find the village, which is actually a beautiful mountain town about a 45 minute drive (straight up a mountain) from the Caramanico Terme train stop. I am 31 and born in Melbourne. I have been to Abruzzo several times to stay with plenty relatives which still remain in their homeland. It is good to see the towns listed in their province and it brings back memories of my last visit. Mum has just left this weekend to visit her home town. Come and visit Australia some time!!
