My father, Antonio, immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1954. I am also married to another Abbruzese, Nancy Zeoli-Calamo. We would be interested in making contact with other Abbruzese from around the world, and especially from Barisciano, Provincia D'Aquila. Also, if anyone from Barisciano reads this message, please say hello to my grandmother, Rosina Calamo, at the Instituto Di Vecchie and give her all my love. My mother's family is from Barisciano (sp?) as are most of the Italians from the suburb of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, USA) where I grew up. In fact, as of 10 years ago, a 'Barisciano Day' was still being held yearly. Am planning to visit the homeland in the next few years, and am doing some geneology work. Hoping the 'net will provide a preview. Ciao

I'm working in Pescara, married to a local girl (May 1995) and learning about the region. My paternal grandparents emigrated from Sicily at the turn of the century (c.1895 and 1901) and settled in New York City. I'm brining the family back to our roots in Italy ! My wife and I would like to hear from anyone else in the area -- not only to talk Internet !
